Was looking to upgrade to this, but after seeing this video, I definately wont. This fan is just silly, the sheer size of it is ridiculous. For that size, you can go with a much better solution.. Water Cooling.

@TheITzZ *illogical lol jus sayin
-
@hihiman actually, i strongly disagree, the pea amount is the right way because spreading it causes air bubbles to become trapped. This greatly reduces heat transfer and so is detrimental to the fan.

hey man, im not sure, some people say if you try and spread it, it creates air bubbles at that isnt good, im not sure, thanks (:

great video man! you clearly explain everything that I need to know on how to install the heatsink! ^_^
The only thing that confuses me is how to properly apply the thermal grease?
-
@WhiteWalI I know your comment was over a month ago but you should watch a vid by "yaochoon" called How thermal compound spreads.. its shows why a small amount in the middle is best.
-
Hi mate, thanks for the tutorial, is there any much difference on doing on the AMD3 motherboard? thanks
-
@WhiteWalI a little dot of it spread all over one side of the processor is the proper way. you don't want to use too much, just enough.
Just a little tip that this guy didn't cover (literally). When putting on the thermal paste. Spread it completely over the processor with a card of somesort, apply it evenly and thin. Increases performance more. Thank you.

@hihiman actually the thermal paste that noctua offers doesnt need you to spread it and it offers great performance with the cooler
i have my i5 750 at a stable 4.1 ghz oc the stock cooler wouldnt get me past 3.3ghz but youre right a lot of pastes do need you to spread it
