Signifying Nothing 10/28/06

cramming too many syllables into a line of time.
they constantly toll, never releasing that apprehension
complication, consternation, humiliation
Praying for the End of this ever present tension.
panic attack is such a silly concept,
created by a culture consumed with its own arrogance,
as if the activites we choose to pass the seconds served a function other than
validating our own vanity.
our Desire to achieve and acquire
places wieghts on every joint, restraining our actions.

the complicated futility of ignorance

Obsessed over ticks of the clock,
forgetting they're just ticks of Eternity.

What is the point of writing these poems that rail against conformity?
I'm just fitting into another pattern of behavior.
The counter-culture kids that live in my neighborhood don't dress like they work on Wall Street, or stand in line waiting to get into the hottest new club.
Never the less, they are wearing a uniform.
They're living in a manner that is opposed to the "safe"/"suburban"/"Red State" ideal.
Their philosophy may differ from those in Duluth, but it still seems to be born out of a spirit of judgemental elitism.

You're living like a revolutionary in the safest possible venue.
An arena of similarly half-enlightened, pretentious, arrogant, and concieted jerks.

The fact that these people are my closest contemporaries makes me wish for nuclear holocaust in exactly five minutes.

I hate my enimies, I hate my allies, yet the rage I feel is spawned from my love of humanity.
