A clip from Radio Ham.
This classic episode sees Hancock as a ham radio enthusiast who receives a mayday call from a ship in distress but keeps getting distracted just before he can take down its position.

  • there will never be another tony hancock, brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanx

  • The lad himself, 30 minutes talking to himself and being very funny as well,a true comic legend,

  • I think I still prefer his radio performances because Galton and Simpson could create more imaginative storylines and of course, the classic cast (Jacques, Kerr and Williams).

  • "I will not have great Featherd Heads stuck in the top of my milk bottle" brilliant

  • Brilliant, still listen to his shows on bbc7,highlight of my week

  • I think Tony was best suited to the radio but this TV episode proves me wrong. . . . . * * * * *

  • I've got the box set now.Like you say it's unfortunate some episodes are lost. I think the BBC did that with some other programmes. Still, i've got 36 odd episodes of Hancock to enjoy!!

  • It was on here, but was removed because of copyright violation.

    There's a 8 DVD 50th anniversary set out for about £25. Unfortunately 17 episodes are lost :(

  • Brilliant! it's a pity the whole episode is not on here. One of the best.

  • One of the classics and I was a bit surprised nobody has commented on it before. First heard this when I was at school and was introduced to Hancock by an English Master. I have this and the blood donor on LP plus DVD now and still love listening to Hancock. 40 years since his passing, thanks for posting, from one old radio ham talking about another...
