This is a short video of my engine display at the 20th Annual Chippokes Steam and Gas Engine Show 5 - 6 June 2010 at the Chippokes Farm and Forestry Museum in Surry, VA. I had four engines there: 1931 International 1-1/2HP Model M, 1918 International 1-1/2HP Model M, 1918 Economy 1-1/2HP Model E and a 1924 Hercules 1-1/2HP Model FW.
The Hercules was belted to a small Hardie pump which pumped water from a bucket and through a discharge back into the bucket to show people one possible application of one of these hit and miss engines - pumping water.
The Economy was belted up to a reduction system to power what used to be a hand cranked ice cream freezer, to demonstrate another labor saving option. Yep - I'll spend a couple of weekends building a gadget to keep me from cranking for 20 minutes - you bet!
The two Ms were not hooked to any equipment this time. I'll come up with something for them another time. Maybe a big squirrel cage blower to keep me cool at these shows. It was in the 90s for this one, and it was very humid and muggy. The fan would have been a blessing.
