Obama changes his space policy: Now in favor of NASA

Up until August 2nd, 2008 Obama's campaign had talked about delaying Constellation for 5 years and funneling that money instead to a pre kindergarden program. This would have created a full decade long gap in NASAs manned space program. Obama seems to have changed his tune and is now in favor of NASAs program and has instead found other ways to pay for his education program.

US Based Space X and Orbital Sciences are each headed to the station early next year to supply it & Space X Falcon will shuttle astronauts up there starting in 2013. Space X's Falcon Heavy will be at Vandenberg for testing in 2012/2013. This is the largest, most powerful US designed and built rocket since Saturn V.

Launching using the private sector is actually cheaper in the long run, and the current Falcon launches are cheaper than the Chinese.
