@BrianD0313 The whole point of playing To The End is to beat the actual game of Minecraft... mods are not really part of my goal here.

@brisulph If you won't - try out the "OPTIFINE" mod: it makes the game faster and overall smoother on vanilla graphics (which COULD be good for you, just guessing :D)

Any start point has to be better than the start point of my first world (in beta 1.6?) - a beach of an arctic biome with only one small tree and no coal in sight. I had to travel a number of chunks inland just to find a good supply of wood. Of course since the new 1.1, I found a nice forest with a natural small cave including a big vein of coal and even some iron.

Great to see you doing Minecraft from the beginning! Can't wait to see when you find a Stronghold, since I have never found one! I'm jealous too that you managed to tame that wolf with just one bone like that! (I haven't found wolves in my game since my very first world, which I ended up having to ditch cuz i got hopelessly lost!)
