Mickey Katz's band was without equal for Klezmer music. The great Manny Klein was just one of the musicians The list is ultra impressive. Klein's brother was called 'Dopey'. This explains the interior monument in the jewish section of Hollywood Memorial Cemetery on Melrose behind Paramount studios. It reads...Shalom Aloha Dopey. Superhartline

Thanks for posting this song. At about the 34 second mark Mickey uses a phrase which I am probably misspelling but it sounds like Fong Shi Non. I 've heard the term many times before but have forgotten its meaning. Do you know what it means in English? Thanks for any help.

i like this as much as the original armenian version. this song is definitely meant to be ethnic. there are many similarities between armenians and jews as well. the only difference:armenians are more generous........just teasing.
