  • @Lundenwic Omaha, who won the Triple Crown in 1930 endured a long boatride to finish 2nd in the Arc, only one of many examples. The Jersey Act, for 36 years, discouraged NA from sending horses to Europe as well. Where would European breeding be without Northern Dancer?

  • An Arc De Triomphe winner and a Breeders Cup Classic winner going at each other hammer and tong!! The back to back Breeders Cup Classic's that Tiznow won in 2000 and 2001 are still 2 of the best ever run since the inception of the Breeders Cup races. He had to beat the "iron horse" from Ireland, Giant's Causeway, in 2000. Which he did by a head. Then had to come back and beat the Arc winner, Sahkee, in 2001. Which he did by a nose!! Speaks to the greatness of both the Euro horses, too. IMO.

  • The best US horses have been able to win on both grass and dirt. Secretariat and Barbaro are shining examples. In fact, after only two G1 wins on turf, Secretariat's jockey declared him superior on grass. How many UK or Euro horses have been able to win big races on both surfaces. Anyway, the US breeds the best - including Sakhee and Giant's Causeway. Always has, always will.

  • It's funny how the stupid Euros on here keep saying that Americans give races like the Arc "the swerve" because they'll get trashed there! (LO!!) Why the hell would US owners want to make the long, tiring and potentially dangerous trip to Europe when they have the best tracks and opposition right here?! - that's why the Euros send their stock over, only to get beat by the likes of Tiznow! Sakhee and GC are US bred and adapted well to dirt, but just got beat by a superior horse.

  • @eajinabi just like dylan thomas rightfully schooled us??? maybe even a bigger disappintment then (EUROS close your eyes) dancing brave?

  • @TacomaDanni He's tells them to step off and then floors it.

  • @frankschlanker, they held the Breeder's Cup in October a few times like in 2007 (Monmouth - October 24th and 25th) and 2008 (Santa Anita - October 26th & 27th)

  • Best California bred TIZNOW

  • The Dubai World Cup is held, as is the Breeders Cup races, out of sync with the European racing in general. The Dubai WC is held in March and the BC races are held in November. Its a pity they cant sort something out and get a World Racing Series that incorporates all the Major racing nations.
