Some kind of creature - painting time lapse

Ok, so this is my first real attempt at making a digital, composition painting in colour. Still some trial and error, and it took quite a long time to paint because of that(~4h). But nevermind, I'm uploading the whole process here. Hopefully I'll be able to paint some more in a not too distant future! It's so much fun! :D

@merccc1 Pressure sensitive tablet i'm guessing... thats how i do it....

and basing it off the beginning sketch, seems like thats what it is.

How did you make some of the body smooth did you  use smudge or something tranistion from colors ?, what is that red thing you do (i think it is a mask) how do those work, and for the hair and grass did you have a special brush to do so much lines or did you hand do all that?
