Santa Rosa PD conducting what appeared to be unwarranted searches on multiple residences and automobiles near Llano Raod and Highway 12. The subjects of search informed us that the premise for the search was a drug raid but no drugs were found after a five hour search. This is the third time the subject's residence has been raided under the guise of locating narcotics. Other residents of the property, who also happen to be immigrants and who claim to be totally unrelated to the target of the drug search, also had their homes and automobiles raided and searched. Arrests were made on outstanding warrants and on a parole violation because guns were found locked in the property owner's personal storage unit but were not in the arrested parolee's rental space. No warrant was presented to the subjects of the search when asked for specifically to indicate what areas of the property were to be searched, who the individuals being targeted were or what specific items were being sought. Personal property was confiscated and destroyed during the search.

Officers refused to give up names and badge numbers when asked, would not allow Copwatch to speak to property tenants when asked, and forced Copwatch to observe from the roadway because a "private Road" sign was posted near the property.

Subsequent contact with Sergeant Schwartz of Santa Rosa PD revealed that officers are, in fact, required by their Code of Conduct to give names and badge numbers to "citizens", when asked to do so. He has informed his officers to give out their information in the future.

  • stupid,get a life.

  • Illegal steroid and drug abuse among police is epidemic in the US. If you suspect that a cop is abusing drugs (irrational anger, shaved head to avoid drug hair tests, over-reacting, etc.) it is best to report him anonymously to the DEA and FBI for everyone's best interests--he may very well be an abuser.

  • @srcetme It's funny that thats what you turn too, it's called a bullet proof vest. Just the idea that you jump to weight makes me wonder...do you have a little bit of a weight problem, hahahaha fatty fat fat.

  • You don't know if they have a warrant or not, hell you don't even know if they were searching the house. Damn I hate people like you who read a little pamphlet on law and think you're the most knowledgeable person in the world when it comes to law, leave the cops alone you dipshit you're not helping you're not keeping the world safe from police abuse you're just a stupid piece of shit who needs to back off when told to. You didn't know the owner of the house so stay off the property.

  • Obstructing Official Business. Lock ur ass up.

  • his doing his job and your taking his time when they are clearing the streets to make them a safe for us:(

  • I hate people that do this. You're not doing anything but pissing the cop off.

  • dude they are just annoying the cops and causing more of a gap between cops and citizens. the law does say you can't interrupt in an investigation, they're really lucky they didn't get arrested.

maybe i'm missing something, i don't know why they say on the details it "appeared to be an unwarranted search" but idk it just didn't seem like they were treating the cops like they were doing something wrong. not all cops are the same.
