Using penalties is not a CARE reform. Should people penalize govts when they fail to setup public provisions for the needed? People, unions and communities should open non-profit health insurance organizations (i.e. Young Men/Women Insurance Association branching off from YMCA/YWCA) to compete with these private industry paid politicians.
The must remove the penalty. People have rights not to use any for-profit insurance companies. Can someone legislate all Senators must eat out at monopoly over priced restaurants? This is against humanity.
Stop and kill this not-even-half-baked, watered down non-reform bill. It is as simple as pie, folks:
No cost control mechanism (public option) + Individual mandate + Fee (Fine) = Another Multi-Billion Bailout bill for the private insurance industry EVERY YEAR !
The U.S. Senate has clearly betrayed the core values of the American people and given in to the crooks who fund their campaigns for PUBLIC OFFICE. We have a PRIVATE CORPORATION BEING USED TO CENSOR OUR DEBATES FOR PUBLIC OFFICE. Howard Dean is correct and very wise to be speaking out as he has especially now that the "public option" and fair competition for the drug companies are both off the table. It is obscene!
61% of America does NOT want this in ANY form! So much for WE THE PEOPLE being represented by our so called leaders! In 2010, the revolution starts! ALL current politicians will be voted out, both republican AND democrat!
