A clip from the 1965 film Al Shaqiqan ( The two Brothers) In this film Souheir Zaki plays the part of a dancer at a club. She doesn't have an acting role in this particular film and only says a word or two. However, Souheir Zaki appeared in close to 60 films during her career and in many of them she was the leading actress. The song that she dances to is Enta Omri. The lyrics were written by Ahmed Shafik Kamel and the music was composed by Mohamed Abdul Wahab. It was sung of course, by Oum Kulthum. Ahmed Shafik Kamel had originally given this song to Abdul Wahab for him to sing it and Abdul Wahab began to compose the music for himself. He quickly realized that it would be much better if Oum Kulthoum sang it instead of him and he consulted with Ahmed Shafik Kamel who was thrilled that she would sing his song. So they presented the song to Oum Kulthum who made a slight change to the lyrics. The first words of the song were originally "Shawacouni 3anek" and Oum Kulthoum changed it to "Raga3ouni 3anek" which she considered more suitable.
Three of the men sitting at the bar are a famous trio of comedy/actors/singers who frequently appeared in Egyptian films, they were called Soulathi Adwaa el Masra7. They were originally three college friends who's love of music and art motivated them to form this group and to work together in show business.
