"A Small Price"

its always a small price to people who enjoy the very freedoms that your father and my marines fight to protect

With all due respect, Gunny - My OIF-Vet Marine sons and I don't think the Iraq war was justified, nor was any life lost in it a small price. Our Marines should have been sent to the 'Ghan after those who really attacked us on 9/11 - and before. Are some wars necessary? I'm no fool. Yes, one need only look to our Founding Fathers and our nation's birth, for one. But every death is a huge price...and one I'll NEVER take for granted nor forget. Semper Fi and bless you, Devil Dog. Sorry, I didnt mean that to sound trite. I was simply saying that people in congress do not understand the sacrifices that people like your sons and my marines make on the battlefield. In my experience, politicians view servicemen and women as a number and will do anything it takes to keep their jobs up on the hill. I view them as fathers, husbands, and sons as well as daughters, mothers and wives. Again, I'm sorry if my words caused offense.

Not at all, Gunny. It's all good. Absolutely, politicians just FUBAR everything. And unfortunately, it's our sons, daughters, husbands, wives, etc. that pay for it. If it were the politicians & family over there, they'd be done.

I think it's important for people to realize that being a Marine doesn't mean that you necessarily agree with a certain political opinion or idea. With very few exceptions, the Marines I personally know voted for Obama, view the war in Iraq as Bravo Sierra or worse.

At least he voted against the highest tax increase in the U.S.

great, a monkey could do that... I'd gladly pay double the tax if I could have one of those good paying jobs with benefits that was lost because of these fascists, spineless sell-outs to the plutocracy voting to give our tax money to companies that went bankrupt just to break up the unions and bankers to steal peoples homes from them... you should be ashamed of yourself... we already know that our elected government has no shame...
