Dr. Chuan Lee (PhD '86), President of Ming Chuan University in Taiwan, gave a special lecture to faculty, students and staff at the USC Rossier School of Education on October 12, 2010.
Lee earned his Ph.D. in postsecondary and higher education from USC in 1986 and was named president of Ming Chuan University in 1999. Under his leadership, the university established an International College in 2001 to provide English-taught degree programs and promote international education.
In 2009, the university earned the top ranking among northern Taiwan colleges and universities in the departmental accreditations given out by the Higher Education Evaluation and Assessment Council of Taiwan. Ming Chuan University also has the highest number of international students in Taiwan.
