Ghana has a wide variety of lizards and there certainly were plenty at Manye Academy. It is quite surprising to see lizards dart vertically up walls and to bolt across your path and on under a rock or shrub. Manye is a school for migrant children in the Kpone Barrier district outside of Tema in Ghana, West Africa. The school has approximately 300 children from families who could not otherwise afford to pay for their child's education. Mr. Nartey and his wife Emma have sacrificed nearly everything into helping build a temporary school with 9 classrooms and 16 teachers but they are in need of desperate assistance if they are going to make Manye suited to handle the influx of families into the region.
