The Gantt Gang teaches you how to create your very own laundry detergent in order to save money.
This is the recipe I use for the powder type.
REMEMBER: if you are using a smaller bar of soap (as in FelsNaptha or Ivory) you only need 1c. of washing soda & Borax and depending on how dirty your kids get.. 1/2-1c. of Oxi Clean to each bar. The Zote soap was twice as big... so I doubled it.

Zote at Big Lots - easy, washing soda and Fels-Naph next to impossible to find. I usually just put the Zote in a lingerie washing bag and run it w/ wash, take it out before rinse - don't bother w/ all the mixing of things.

Why not just use the Zote. It is primarily Beef tallow and coconut oil. I read on their web site that their bar soap is awesome by its self and there is Citronella in it and it can repel mosquitos. Wouldnt the other ingredients wash the properties out of it?

Zote is three times bigger then F-N. How well did Zote work compared to F-N?

@cheskydivision I worked really well! I think I like it better than the FelsNaptha.. the only problem is that I have to order it online since I can't find it anywhere where we live. So, the cost goes up. I can get FelsNaptha for less than a dollar a bar.

Another Tip I have is if your into highly scented soap like Tide or Gain yu can add a cup to your mixture to make the whole batch smell just lke your favorites. Hope this helps someone.
