I am dedicating this famous and very difficult LORI or LULLABY to our POPULER PERSONALITY Sarla Ji (YouTube Screenname jasbongy) whom many YouTube Hindi Music lovers already know. Sarla Ji is a very pious and selfless singing artist who dedicates her osngs with Lata like voice to so many of us on our Birthdays. We are all Grateful to Sarla Ji for her noble act. Sarla Ji has Lata like Golden voice. So I thought of dedicating this very famous LORI by playing it on my Flute. This lori "Aaja Ri Aa" from Do Bigha Zameen was the first Hindi Film of Maestro MD Salil Chaudhary who has worked wonders with Lata's voice. In his first film itself Maestro Sall Da excelled. Even Lata Ji said that this lori was the most difficult song of her career. Lori's in Hindi films are always based on Raga Pilu since Raga Pilu has the power of bringing soothing effect not only to small children but also to adults. Also Raga Pilu has lots of Komal Notes which brings calming effect. But these Komal notes (or half hole covering of Flute holes) make life very difficult for Flute Players. In 1951, that was about 4 years before Do Bigha Zamin there was another lori by MD C. Ramchandra "Dhire Se Aaja Re" which was also sung by Lata Ji and was once again based on Raga Pilu. And this lori "Dheere Se Aaja Re Film : Albela" is the most popular lori in Hindi Films so far. But I would rate both "Dhirese Aaja Re" and "Aaja Ri Aa" at same level. I feel lori Aaja Re Aa Nindiya is a more complicated composition than "Dhire Se Aaaja Re". I hope you will like my Flute rendition. I see that on YouTube so far no flute player has played "Aaja Ri Aa Nindiya". So I thought of recording and ulpoading this lori for our YouTube friends. I intentionally avoided using background Rhythm and kept the flute notes pure with no adulteration. Now after listening to this lori please do not fall asleep before you place your valuable comment.
