Hey look I'm Arjan, the "King of cannabis", and I like to travel around the world destroying landrace genetics with my filthy hybrids. That way, no one can grow out IBL's that took thousands of years to develop and everyone one will have to smoke my superpotent but unspectacular genetics. And while I'm at it I'm going to trying an hook all of these poor farmers on feminized seed so that they will have to buy seed from me and people like me from then on instead of producing their own seed, yay!

That Franco guy is a moron. While he thinks those farmers are unsophisticated because they don't use technical words, they know their land and the growing conditions perfectly.

I agree about Franco, very paternalistic attitude. He thinks b/c dont speak English, they cant differentiate between strands or farm. And to say, they will do anything for their family, including growing weed, is misplaced. They are getting paid (albeit ripped off). Growers receive about 1/5 of the market value. So he shouldn't talk about their 'living in poverty' when he's a part of the problem - companies like this grossly underpay the farmers, their is obvious child labor .. so many issues

@ezlnmarcos Those genetics deserve to be preserved in their homelands. Grow those filthy hybrids elsewhere, leave their origins pure.

@ezlnmarcos OMG he's just like Monsanto and what he's doing is sick. Those genetics belong to everyone and for him to go in there and pollute them is tragic. Obviously you have never had a real landrace, because if you had, you'd know there is nothing like it. You can't improve on them! You can isolate traits, but you lose the complexity of the high. The durban I had from a bag sent over to me from the area was bar none, the most incredible weed I've ever had.

Respond to this video... also comparing Arjan to Monsanto is pretty evil, I doubt arjan is gonna send black cars and agents to huts and wigwams in Malawi and and Kabul for saving seeds. I believe he talked about fem seeds so the farmers in that region could have a better hash production if portions of the fields were grown sensi, plus you're gonna have natural hermie nodes that create seeds in that many hectares, as is common with fem seeds.

@Trazillian have you ever had a pure landrace? I've had both thai and paki kush, they were both good, but that's why hybrids are made to take certain characteristics and thru careful breeding create a new strain that is hopefully but not always better than the original, and you can always create your own feminized seed by chemically forcing the female bud to create it's own pollen, which is how feminized seeds are created.

@ezlnmarcos I don't think you understand, if outdoor landraces are polluted they will be lost forever. It's moot though anyway, just like Monsanto's GMO's are irrevocably contaminating alfalfa, corn and a whole host of other crops, hybrid cannabis will lose us IBL's forever. The only real hope is for as many people as possible to save as much landrace seed as possible and keep it going indoors, protected from contamination.

@Trazillian yeah you can just don't buy greenhouse seeds, go with holysmoke or world of seeds, you have options for good landraces, go with greenhouse if you want a decent hybrid, when you work with fems it just makes you mother and clone and if you want seeds get a male from another strain and make a new f1 and go from there if you're a breeder yourself. plus their fems are cheaper than other breeders like sensi and dutch passion. I'm digging on blue hash by dinafem right now tho :)
