What a rare pleasure to see an 18th century country dance performed right through, with all the changes. For those who are interested, the source is de la Cuisse's 'Repertoire des Bals' of 1762. What makes this dance particularly apt for performance is that it is one of the few dances in this large collection to be illustrated with little paintings of the dancers, each figure having the appropriate part of the tune below it. This in addition to a brief history of the dance and full instructions.
