thank you

rofl anyone else notice the camera move to the right slightly when the waitress bent over the table? >.<
-
@markbeckwith "If you are open to the public, then you are "place of public accommodation" and may not discriminate."
I'm confused about that b/c a business like "Abercrombie and Finch" targets the youth so does that mean it's open to the public.
-
I agree with Rand on this one. I love how everyone tries to make it sound like conservatives want to shut down all services for the disabled and needy. You're either all idiots or deaf. The idea is to take the power away from the federal government because it is bloated and incapable of handling MOST of it's responsibilities.
-
@evilfreethinker another moron who believes that we had deregulation. keep on calling for more regulations, big business loves you for it! you and other misinformed creatures make sure that it will be impossible for anyone to compete with big business
-
@IvanLouiseBiggin you write this without ever considering the huge damage this legislation has done to small business and you've clearly never considered the damage this legislation has done to the disabled. disabled employment before ada, 59%, now that the ada have made the disabled a litigation threat, that number has dropped to 48%!
-
What a cop-out! With that logic we would descend into anarchy you dolt!
We've all seen what 10 years of deregulation and letting the bankers and investors run wild over the "little" people. If we just turned over everything to the states and let them 'decide' we'd be worse off. Answering everything with, "Oh, let the states decide" is a cop-out and an abolition of responsibility.
-
@sonrider657 greenspan admitted laissez faire capitalism didn't work, put him on the loon watch list
-
@soicuw Yeh, all those handicapped people are destroying your rights?
What kind of miserable selfish bastard are you? Oh, I see, a Paul Rand miserable selfish bastard supporter!
-
@Kinosis79 Anti-choice people seldom care about children, or they'd oppose wars. Did you oppose Bush's war? Why do you care so deeply about pre-birth children and so little about actual humans? I'm sure that you're more concerned about the Christ character from the bible returning for "judgment day" to find that his accounting is off, because we good little humans didn't squeeze out all of the possible "souls". Anti-choice lunatics are not pro-life, they are pro-Armageddon.
-
@kakahass The Southern states did not consider abolishing slavery as "helpful". Paul is like an ignorant child who is trying to convince an adult that running with scissors is acceptable. If we don't impose rules about access for people with disabilities, businesses will not spend the necessary money to provide access.
-
@heathdwatts wtf are you on about- he is against federal involvement and federal force to make states do what they don't consider helpful- this is a principle issue- if you can't see that then you are a retard it has nothing to do with being against handicapped people...
-
@heathwatts, that is crazy, I can't believe this guy doesn't want to murder babies! What a horrible human being! And he has problems with portions of acts that when applied are not very common sense. How dare he! He should be as liberal as cali since things are working out so well there.

the ADA takes away the freedom of the majority for so called minority rights.
RAND 2010!
-
@markbeckwith You've obviously never had to implement an ADA approved workplace. Try it and then comment.
-
The number of people commenting here who are afraid of liberty and ignorant of the constitution who're squealing like power hungry, utopian seeking, symptom masking pin heads is amazing. They don't give a damn about protecting the rights of others so long as their rights seem uninvolved. Idiots.
-
So begins the implosion of the Tea Party. Once we get to look at what they'e about, they're not the kind of people we want in our government.
-
respect him for speaking the truth.. his true beliefs ,,, which is not near what weve been getting from our current and past leaders. I get him. Keep the fed out of our lives let each state pass their laws and handle their individual situations. let each person be responsible for himself and family. TOTAL freedom. The feds only mandate is protect our freedoms.
-
i love how the interview was totaly fine until that guy actualy threw a hardball question at him. especialy when rand pauls main support comes from people who are being increasingly encouraged by right wing media to commit acts of violence against the government and people who oppose what they stand for.
-
Try to realize the spin on this story. its as easy to spot as the kid on the right pretending he is not staring at that cute blond chicks ass.
-
@815141518 Private property owners live in the U.S., and they need to follow the laws of the land. Should a private property owner be able to commit murder or own slaves on his or her land? I should only say his, because you probably don't believe that women should own land. If you come onto my land, at my invitation, do I own you? You need to think more deeply about what you're suggesting. We the people are the government, and we the people need to protect less fortunate citizens from tyrants.
-
By the way, the ADA only requires a "reasonable accommodation" and says it must be "readily achievable." If a business is small and couldn't afford to put an elevator in a pre-existing building, then arranging it so that disabled customer could be served on the first floor or a disabled employee could work on the first floor, would be considered a "reasonable accommodation."
-
Sorry private property business owners, you too are subject to laws and regulations. This includes zoning regulations, health & safety codes, building codes, accessibility codes, and non-discrimination laws like the ADA & the Civil Rights Act. Business may not serve pizza with cock roaches instead of sausage or refuse to serve black people. If you are open to the public, then you are "place of public accommodation" and may not discriminate.
-
All land was stolen by someone in the first place. Then it was most likely stolen by yet another person, often murder was involved with these transactions. So there is no such thing as private property, as all land property is stolen.
For those who feel Dr. Paul was trapped into commenting on this topic by a liberal - are you handicapped? is anyone in your family handicapped? do you have any handicapped friends? Do you know anyone who MUST use crutches, or braces, or a chair to support their body because their legs can't? Are you honestly saying that it is right for a flight of stairs to deny access to a building or possible employment for a handicapped person?
