  • Beautiful music accompanied by a beautiful portrait. Who is the artist?

  • @ComtedeTourville It's a self portrait of Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun.

  • Yes, it is the Air gai en Rondeau from the 3rd act. Rameau used some of his works of harpsichord in his operas, i think seven of them; like the Tambourin in Les Fêtes d'Hébé & Les Sauvages in Les Indes Galantes.

  • That is absolutely marvellous.

  • SIMPLEMENTE DELICIOSO (DELICIOUS)

  • No one plays Rameau harpsichord pieces like GILBERT ROWLAND. This pales in comparison to Rowland's astounding mastery of Rameau. He's also incredible with Soler and Scarlatti.

This is my favorite piece of solo Rameau but PLEASE post Rowland's rendition!

  • it reminds me of a piece from dardanus(?)

    thnx for uploading
