Here is how to stop the power plant: Go home and turn off all your electricity forever.

That's why your neighbors are inside with their windows closed and A/C cranked up. The people in your neighborhood obviously prefer their A/C to clean air and silence.

As far as moving, I sure wish it would help, but it would have to be outside the hundreds of miles of toxic blanket cast by such "neighbourhood" peaker plants....but hell, you can build one right next door to my house and I wont care...just make the freeking thing EFFICIENT and within residential noise levels...Duh!

Ahhh. Good one buddy!...Your absolutly right. No one wants to open a window these days and breath the SMOG and SPUDUM belched out by such 70% INeffecient works of modern geneuis.

Why don't you tell all those businesses to open their windows while you are at it. The demand for power is there. LOL @ you thinking a couple people opening their windows constitutes many. Don't like the peaker plant? MOVE and stop complaining.

Your assumption show your ignorance. Many of us in proposed installation areas DO NOT use airconditioning. I open my windows, which I sure as hell wont be wanting to do if this is installed nearby! And I dont use much power either...so dont assume just because your industry wants to justify making millions of dollars at our expense.

You complain about the noise and pollution yet you walk into your air conditioned home and office that has the lights on.
This is an ignorant response to something the video maker doesn't understand. They run home and turn on their A/C and TV's and scream about power prices or rolling brown outs. You can't have it both ways! The emissions from this facility are cleaner than the cars you drive. The noise levels were approved prior to construction by your elected officials. I am in the power gen industry but have no business dealings with the owner of the plant.

The cumulative effects on the employees 30 feet away and the residents 350 feet away are our concern. We do not have air conditioners in our neighborhood. The new homes in the east use much more energy than we do. We are not opposed to a peaker located further away from residents and schools.
This facility is not meeting the noise standards it agreed to meet as a condition of being built we are working with our elected officials to take action on this.

This is the 49.5 mw peaker plant at the end of Albany, built in 200. MMC Energy wants to enlarge it to 100mw and run it over a 1,000 hours per year. There are homes 350 feet away, 16 schools within a mile. The closest is 1200 feet away. This is an environmental justice community. There are new businesses less than 30 feet away. This is an inappropriate location. The base load plant on the bay needs to be dismanteled as well and we are hopeful that will happen soon.
