@leagacy23 Depends on where you live its by county not state. alot of smaller towns dont have smog restrictions. I know for a fact that san antonio and most of the surrounding sub cities don't.

@TheTank1320 you need to get the mil eliminators upr american muscle sells them for like 60 bucks, they plug into the o2 sensor harness and kills the check engine light code

@leagacy23 im from texas and unless its a new law it depends on the county you live in as far as the cats. Ive lived i Jefferson county and hardin county for 20 plus years and they only do a vision inspection. but harris county does full blown inspection smog and all

is it illegal to take the cats off you exhaust in texas? i have a 97 gt with full bassani exhaust and i want to take the cats off or dump the exhaust but i dont want to go through the trouble to have to pay extra to put the stuff back on for state inspection.

@leagacy23 yes, its illegal. Its a hassel finding places to get my incpection sticker. but they are out there.
