Micron discusses how our new MLC SSD—the RealSSD™ P400e—fits into the increasingly segmented enterprise SSD storage market, filling a slot that many storage architects previously attempted to fill with client SSDs. We also explain some of the enterprise-focused features that make the P400e SSD an easy choice to replace enterprise hard drives.

  • Hi Scott,

Will your SSD become slower after using it for sometime ?

  • @MrAvatar9999 Thanks for the comment. No, unlike many SSDs, the P400e won't lose performance over time. The P400e specs are steady state, sustainable performance numbers. Users are actually likely to see higher performance over the drive life than what is posted in our documentation.

Customers like this approach because it’s truer to real-life conditions for server and data-center apps. We’re developing a technical doc that explains our methodology; I’ll post a link here when it’s ready.
