My all out favourite "Warbird" I would pay Big$$ to fly one of these, I even have an original POH book for this Aircraft :) This is a collection of my still images taken at the 2004 Warbirds over Wanaka airshow in New Zealand, this example is the last remaining RNZAF Corsair from WWII. NZ had 412 of them for the Pacific Campaign. This one was found in a back garden in Hamilton, NZ and restored by the Breitling Fighters team...history flying :) The first ever aircraft to break 400mph in level flight at sea level, this and the Mustang were the fastest 'Prop" aircraft built, prop diameter of over 13 feet...you guys can research the stats..love this plane.. ! (ends with some other Corsair Pics and the best one, a Corsair and FA-18 in formation :)
Awesome, I flew to this airshow specifically to see this Corsair, I even bought a copy of the Pilots Operating Handbook, with all the instructions to fly and operate the weapons etc. I have been flying for 9 years and would give anything to fly one of these. There is one in Australia being restored now, but the one here at Wanaka is the last flying original RNZAF example.
