Which pattern are you talking of?

I believe that it is more than an assumption to say that this song is about the monotony inherent in show business.

Even if you ignore the identical sax riff beginning and end, the melancholic way in which he sings the entire song, and the final "on the road again" at 4:08 where he is nearing his breaking point, one has to only glance at the lyrics to see that this is a song about show business repetition--not anything else.

This song has a consistent theme.

Imitation is the best form of flattery..did you ever think maybe Metallica just likes the song..I doubt they were trying to upstage Bob.

It all comes down to preference. You'd think it'd be a good thing that this song spread throughout several genres, at this lyrical masterpiece is listened to by a wider variety of people thanks to covers. But no it's cool, you can just insult one of the most successful bands of all time for your demented reasons.

I appreciate this song, but I discovered Metallica's cover first and I still like that more. It's more powerful and somehow it conveys the mood much more. It's one of the few cases where a cover brings numerous good additions to a song.

Where've you been? This song is the antithisis of 'criminally underrated'. What's overrated is the too often used word 'underrated' on youtube comments.

That defeats the whole purpose of a comment section. They're for giving feedback, providing opinions etc.

Comments like those are useless :s

YouTube already did that several years ago when they got rid of a 1-5 star rating system, and replaced it with "like" or "dislike".
