I like Nigel Farage's politics a lot but abandoning the British Mile IS a good idea, and it has nothing to do with the union.
Don't dismiss good ideas based on where they come from!
That said, forcing the private sector to use specific kinds of measurements isn't good either... Even in Denmark I see people selling a pounds of this and that, but on government roadsigns and stuff like that it's a benefit because of tourism.
