Thank you for committing your time to this important outreach. I would really like to go on one of these trips this summer. I read on the AA website that many airlines offer reduced fares for volunteers in the program. Realistically speaking, though, how much does a major trip such as this typically cost? I realize that I could always ask an AA official this question, but I suspect that your answer will be more down to earth.

Thanks for the email. Each mission trek has its own cost depending on location, duration of the trek, and current airfare. The trek fee was around $1200 I believe (this included most meals and all lodging). Airfare ran another $1300, but here again if you plan in advance you might get some better deals. For the same experience I would pay double -- it was life changing to an unfathomable degree. Regards -- Mark
