great video
what kind of sharpener do you use?
-
I think its wrong to sharp each tooth for so long (about 10 seconds)
-
Dremel tool is much quicker, and you can leave the chain on the saw, and it takes much less steel off the blade for more sharpenings per tooth.

A word to the wise, NEVER drop start a chinsaw(2:09) like he did in this video. Where are your glasses, chaps, etc.
-
More money than sense! I can't believe you'd do that to a new chain and bar! :( Good video none the less.
-
@billstmaxx Ok, thank you!
-
2:20 was painful to watch
-
you forgot the rakers, anytime you file that much of the cutter you have to cut rakers down.

Excellent video! I learned how to sharpen a chainsaw chain. This is the only video that shows the entire process of chain sharpening from sharp, dull and sharp again. Thanks!!

Bill not to beat your horse but your excellent macro shot at 5:00 points out why your regrind does not cut as good as new, notice the rough cross grooves caused by the grinder, she will cut fairly well but not as good as a file job. Bill, another thing thats fairly good is a moto tool with the proper sized grinding burr, filing is best though.

@randeddy yes i agree but sometimes it takes a long time to file it all by hand.. especially with how dull this chain was...
regardless depending how dull and how far back the dullness goes into the tooth either way electric or by hand you would have to cut the tooth back that far for it to cut again. thanks for commenting!! :)
