Book Review 1: The Kite Runner

One of my goals for 2011 is to making reading a habit once again! And, to help me stay on track, I thought I would do a review of each of the books I manage to read (this is an idea totally inspired by Combatoasis .. Jim .. whoes been encouraging me for months to try my hand at book reviews! LOL). So, I just finished my first book of 2011 and this is my review! Hope you enjoy it! .. =D .. ~ hugs, katie

Your goal seems like a good one. i need to finish 2 books I am reading=) but 1st I have to get 2 scrapbooks done. Good review. Not really sure i will read this one =)

@AdrainAugust .. hi adrian .. =) .. i didn't know there was a movie until someone else mentioned it to me here in the comments. i don't think i'm up for the movie cause i found the book was really sad. i don't like sad/tragic movies and avoid them if possible .. =S .. i did think the book was well written though and that the author is a great story teller. when you say you remember the walnut trees, is this from the book/moive or were you actually in kabul?

@76gottaloveme ... oh tabatha, i am so glad you liked the review. i didn't have a clue how to do it and it took me 8 takes to get this! LOL .. =S .. you might want to give it a try and if it gets too miserable for you, well, you can always just close it up! .. =) .. i use to read christian romance when i was in my late teens and early 20s. i enjoyed it then but i haven't read it since. and now i avoid romantic novels b/c they depress me! LOL .. ;D

I love how you broke your review down in to sections and how you said three things you liked about the book. Jim's review was good...but after listening to your review...I may actually try to read the book....just for the story telling and cultural references. WOW....all those good things and then you didn't like it......maybe I don't want to read it....LOL....yea...probably not!!! I joke with WGW about Christian Romance but do you like that type book...if so Redeeming Love by francine Rivers
