I swiped clip this from my mom's Korean news, originally aired in South Korea on MBC. It's about Koshik the elephant who can talk. The news broadcast is in Korean, and I didn't subtitle it or anything, but you can read more about it here: http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/r...

"what the hell was the point in watching this vid" -- English-speaking people aren't the ONLY people here on the Internet, y'know...

i hope it teaches it to other elephants. if only people would sit down when the elephant says so, maybe it would come to understand the meaning of words

It's amazing, but it makes sense. Elephants do have a much larger neocortex than humans, so language should be possible for them to understand. Although, considering that it seemed more like it was mimicing the man, it probably wasn't doing it as a means of communication (but most animals have some primitive form of telepathy to communicate anyways).

If you're not teaching it to say "Help, they've turned me into an elephant!" you're wasting everybody's time.

i find it fishy that the five words the elephant can say are, "help this elephant swallowed me"
