Mercury Cougars since introduction in 1968 always came in coupe or convertible. For some experimental reason, Mercury Division decided to produce a Cougar Villager station wagon in '77. Then no wagons until this 1982 model. This would turn out to be the second time that Cougar would produce a wagon and then never again.. Always powered by a V6, 232 cid with 112 hp., Cougars whether this was a GS like this or LS model, thats the engine they would get. The GS wagon would cost you $8,216. Only 19,294 of these mid size station wagons were produced for this second time around. Perhaps if sales were stronger, Mercury Division would have made Cougar wagons beyond '82. Interior is too dark to film because of the darkness within the storage barn but hope you enjoy the exterior. This Cougar is in really good condition, both inside and out. The black vinyl interior which I viewed is in great condition and it appears to be a low mileage survivor. Paint and trim is fresh as well as unbroken pinstriping. Thanks very much for viewing this rare second edition Cougar station wagon.
@cheddyrod I like those red stripes also, gives it some class. I'm with you on not realizing this was a one year edition. I vagley remember this wagon but didn't realize it was a one year edition. Thanks for commenting.
