The Telefunken FE VI/1 was introduced in 1937. It was one of the first television sets in Germany, which operated with the new 441 line television standard which was introduced in the same year. Like many others of these sets in these years, this is a mirror-lid set. Due to the extreme long picture tubes, the picture tubes were installed vertically, and the picture was shown in a mirror. This keeps the sets smaller as when the picture tube was installed horizontally.

  • It is not standard PAL. I use the Aurora World Converter. The PAL signal was converted into the German 441 line prewar television standard signal for antenna input.

The greenish tinge visible here depends on the phosphor of the CRT. This is an old phosphor with a much lower colour temperature.

  • Hi Peter, thank you very much. Don't be confused by the remote control in my hand. It is for the DVD player, not for the television set. ;-)

  • Туда можно денди подрубить, или хбокс?

  • Wow! Great set! It's always great to see an historic piece like this brought back to life! And I note that it appears you are playing a television film from the same period as the set. My understanding is that very few of these were ever built prior to the war. How many survive today?

  • Omg thats better than HD

  • He collects classic television.

  • That's Ilse Werner singing if I'm not mistaken

  • Aieee... Nazi television!

Wow. You do amazing restoration work of all these old sets.

  • Great restoration job. Lovely to see such an original vintage receiver.I believe that microphone on the film is of Telefunken manufacture. The'bulge' in the body houses the pre amplifier valve. J.

  • Impressive!!! Most impressive!!!
