Someone posted to another video something to the effect the only reason Phil was still on stage was due to respect shown by Bobby et. al. BS! With the new Modulus (sp?) bass, Phil is on top of (not at the bottom of) the mix. Still the best bass player ever, IMHO, and the pulse that keeps this music chugging down the track. And this particular tune is the most haunting lyric of all time; it was when it came out in 1968, and it is today. Too (many) riders are approaching . . .

After I said "when was this?" I went to the Further site (very cool) and looked at the schedule and realized it had to be the 7th or 8th. This is such an iconic song, especially after Jimi got thru with it. I like this the best of the Monterey videos you've posted. Thank you!
