She is 6 months old and has only started to do this around meal times or when she gets very excited so it doesnt always happen. She does suffer from reflux and is taking Losec. She has been on Losec since she was 2 months old. She started on solids at 4 and half months and is now eating pureed meat and fish. She had her 6 month vaccination last week. I have read about West Syndrome, Sandifers and other syndromes that are very serious. It seems like its an involuntary action, yet it doesnt seem to bother her and it works in clusters. There is no record of any genetic disorders in our families although I do have distant half blood family members with autism. She has met all her milestones thus far and is generally a very alert, very happy baby.

Since posting this up, we were admitted to the hospital for EEG tests. Prior to the tests, the hospital staff (ped and GP) witnessed her attacks and she was diagnosed with infantile spasms. The EEG the next day diagnosed her and so too did the neuroloist that performed tests as shuddering attacks and this is nothing to worry about. as she will outgrow them.

  • by the way...a simple thought...if it~s around meal time you need to be extra careful with what she eats...food out of cans;jars;packets...is a no no...look into molecular nutrition! I~m not a doctor, but it seems to be completely related to her food...unless she~s had a big scare from something ...also check radio waves in your house. She may be extra sensitive, these babies are very special souls and very open and intune with everything. ...shes lovely!

  • look into ortho molecular nutrition and therapy. I think it may help. :) peace, strenght and love to you all.

  • my daughter does something similiar around feeding time since she was 4 months...she stil does it ....going to see a neurologist soon...so happy for you that its harmless...easies my mind also :D

  • hi i saw your vid. My little girl had/had them. to be honest they didn't look like this but get to A&E and take the video as the sooner it's diagnosesd and treated the better the chance of no other problems. good luck
