I thought those who retire generally have a retirement from ... a 401K style investment portfolio or mutal funds etc etc. I looked at my SS estimated retirement allotment.. it said 1400 by the time I was elegible for retirement in 40 years =/ that wont be enough to buy groceries or fuel for my car. guess either way I'm screwed ... giving any power to republicans would make me sick but who knows.. historically stock markets tend to go up not down..

Stop the republicans from reforming social security so we can keep spending the social security money we have been paying all these years. Let's keep doing the same thing (borrowing money from social security to let the federal gov't spend). Let's not pass a constitutional ammendment that would make it impossible to borrow the social security money. I get to retire at 70+ years of age because the fed gov't is irresponsible. Yet, social security exists b/c the fed thinks we are irresponsible.

@aSingleDallasGuy So I said I'm not smart enough to make more money with our retirement money than the Govt. What the hell does that have to do with anything? There's only so many risk free things you can put it in. I can make the same, but not more. Not without taking a risk. Then you yack all this shit about me wanting the Govt. to handle my money, when I don't. Then you said I called business the Mafia, when I clearly called the Govt. the Mafia. @aSingleDallasGuy Maybe if I explain it to you on a Kindergarten level. I want SS out of Govt. hands, and I don't want it in the stock market. I believe I said to you in one of my prior posts that I wouldn't mind giving it to Fidelity (or someone with a good track-record) to put in an "Interest baring account." Now leave me alone. Dealing with you educated guys is a full-time job. Good thing I dropped out after 8th grade. I hate to be in a position where I can't even read someone's string.
