Precioso video. Que pena que nuestro sistema educativo obvie parte fundamental de nuestra historia, y se centre en vanalidades.
No perdaís vuestras raices¡¡

The USA influence has nearly wiped out all of our Hispanic culture. Now many Chamorros are lost with their identity. I wish that we were able to continue our contact with the Hispanic world. But thanks to people like you who put this video, we have a new opportunity to rejoin the global Hispanic community. I spent most of my life not knowing what is Chamorro. But now I discovering so much of it. Thank you mindurri2007 for recognizing us as Hispanics. I feel like part of something big now.

The Spanish were the only keepers of our documented & recorded history. When the Spaniards were removed from Guam in 1898, Guam lost all contact with Spain. The USA imposed their educational system on Guam and Chamorros were only taught of USA history. It is up to us Chamorros, with the asistance of the Spanish, to rediscover much of our history that was recorded by Spain. The USA education system never taught us of our own Chamorro history. The Spanish can teach us so much that we dont know.

All I know from U.S. history, is that after the Spanish-American war, an independent Cuba emerged. Spain's last bastions of her world-wide empire -the Philippines, Guam and Puerto Rico- were ceded to the U.S.A. All were "unincorporated" territories. Meaning, they would be territories, but would not ever be considered to join the union. Most of the 50 states (minus the original 13 colonies) were "incorporated" territories first. Apparently these 3 island nations did not fit the WASP mode.

puerto rico and guam soon be independent, and Hispanic guam recall its past, something that seems to oblivion
