As the poster said below about Harper (Harpo) sold us out which is so very true folks. Harpo is a Bush follower and the same crazy religion that they both follow. Harpo is even worse because at least with Bush you know who he is but with Harpo everything is all hidden which is even more dangerous. We need to take our countries back from the evils that are running it Running away is not going to solve it because the vils are world wide. No place is better than the other.

I am Canadian and yes we have natural resources but we Canadians are going to fall as well. When our economy is tied to the US by at least 80% you want to bet we are going to feel it as well. Our real estate will go down tremendously and our money will devalue as well. Jobs are mostly low pay like the US - service level jobs. We are going down folks so don't let all this fool you. All governments are going down no matter where they are.

@captplanut Given that Canada does not include it's obligations under the CHMC which now exceeds $1 trillion, it's only a matter of time before this country defaults. So I totally agree with you.

a social democracy (such as Germany), but a capitalist democracy in the footsteps of the USA. Look at the path the USA has followed, and where they are heading. That will tell you exactly where Canada is heading. You don't have to be a genius, nor an economist to see this. You merely need to be alive, awake, and be able to think for yourself. Our Canada as we have known it is gone. Unless policies change, we will not be getting it back anytime soon. Mr Harper will accelerate our demise. JMO

Very good debt management? What dream are you in. Our deficit is over 600b, and 550b of that is interest. All this since early 1980's. Think about it, as soon as our Fed government starting borrowing from private bankers instead of our central bank, it chose to disperse the interest payments abroad rather than to pay the interest back to Canadian people to be re-invested in our infrastructure. Can't you see Canada is following the path of the USA, albeit we started about 60 years later. We are

@captplanut Canada is the country that has been barely affected by the recession because our banks have not been deregulated and more it has a very good debt management but if the United States falls, Canada will be severely affected with no doubt

funny how they forget countrys like belgium latvia etc so the word piigs fits nicelly in the media to scare investors and destroy the euro, this is an obvious attack by uk and usa against eurozone by speculation, its disgusting, they kbnow they need to get one big economy like spain or italy to dedtroy germany so they are destroying portugal so that spain will fall, those are connected economies
-
hoo i love it when someone calls me a piig specially the tall blond whore gets me all excited... where not white enough, oh hekes im gonna kill myself... im not like them, so smart and perfect... lets just pretend that we dont know whos fault is this and blame it on the niggers i mean piigs those dirty sucking niggers that bakrupt everybody and dont work like those honest hard working folks in the north europe, selling their whores behind vitrines, drugs, slavery work, wait sec thats good idea!
I didn't hear him specifically single out Canada. Certainly Canada has debt-based money, but it has huge natural resources. Out of all the western countries Canada is expected to weather the storm better than most.

He said all western nations will default. Look at Canada`s debt. It doesn`t matter how many resources you have.

It's reality, not a "sweeping statement."
