point taken.. but the things is.. this wasnt a metal album..

all helloween albums were different from one another an were all able to contribute something different, which shows the bands ability to diversify.. which is important as musicans...
remember, although helloween is classed is "metal", the underlying factor is they are musicans, they therefore have the liberty to experiment.. chameleon in my opinion, was a success at this experimenting..

I agree it is a shame that bands get railroaded because they want to experiment outside the precepts of what the fans expect. I would like to come up with a fund that compensates for any loss of record sales when a band decides to do any experimental stuff.

This album sounds like Helloween it may not sound like Keepers How could you replicate a masterpiece) but it sounds like Helloween.

the only thing that detracts from this song other than the trumpets is the "church music" sound of the first two lines in the chorus. so i say.

I don't think that metal i conservative. I listen to metal 20 years, and I'm not able to say where are borders of metal. And metal is also very mixture of all musical existing musical genres. Metal is absolutely no conservative.
Btw. I like Chameleon, this is good album, but you don't have to expect speed metal.
