The forecast for the weekend was not good with wet and windy conditions predicted and a Collinwood loss. The weather was better with just some showers and light rain. The winds were light. Pity about the football! Heavy rain prior to the weekend increased the stream flows and turned them a bit muddy. The lake was within 0.5metre of the spillway and looks good however the fishing in the lake was poor.

The yellow belly fishing was in Lake Nillahcootie was good with David Cahir getting a nice bag of 8 yellowbelly over the two days. Daniel Jennings did well in the Howqua and Delatite rivers.

Eildon Lake was very quiet although the best 2 fish were taken from the lake on lures. Bernie Harris caught a beautiful brown trout on Saturday that weighed 2.00 kgs cleaned and Ken Ely caught a yellowbelly on the Sunday that went 2.41kgs.

The competiton was won by our freshwater champion Daniel Jennings with a double bag of 10 fish weighing 3.835kgs with David Cahir finishing second with 8 yellowbelly for 3.515kgs. A total of 47 fish were weighed by the 18 anglers in attendance. 20 brown trout, 10 rainbow trout and 17 yellowbelly made up the total.
