Well at least you admit that we had huge growth after WW2. BTW that would be China robbing the US of its "wealth" with cheap debt, not the service economy. As Michael Pettis loves to say, US debt is an automatic consequence of Chinese saving. But are savings really "wealth"? China complains about their Treasury holdings (nobody forced them to buy...), you hard money types complain about Nixon, the US inflated and suppressed its massive debt after WW2. Maybe saving is for suckers.

just because you look rich doesn't mean that you are. The modern 'service economy' is robbing the USA of its hard earned wealth with cheap debt, to get what you want now so someone else (your children) can pay for it later. The huge amount of growth in the USA after WW2 was because of investment in manufacture (and destruction of the competition) and debt was repaid with the profits not shuffled around in derivatives. Don't even get me started on Nixon and the gold standard lol :)
