Here is a clip from a "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour " which aired November 12, 1967. Featured is impressionist David Frye. This episode was replayed by the E network..
Yummy! It takes me back to 1967 with pleasure, although I doubt if most Americans would get the humor today. I don't think I've heard any other impression of RFK, but then Sirhan Sirhan is ultimately responsible.
His Buckley impersonation is so dead-on it makes my sides split. The mannerisms are so numerous and accentuated and he has them all down perfectly. I would give anything to watch Buckley watching that impersonation!

@Detectivefiction I read that Mr. Buckley did laugh at David's impression of him.

@AgaMbadi I'd wager Mr. Buckley would have laughed right along with the audience! From what I've read he had a great sense of humor!

I love his impersonation of James Mason, one of my favorite British actors. Rest in peace, David.

@pleonic I loved Frye..his Buckley always killed me. Another forgotten master was Guy Marks..his Bogart and Cooper were uncanny.
