Absolutely amazing words from "David Kessler". According to the vanity Wikipedia page he created, he's an author and his main character is... a lawyer! However he appears to know little about the law and uses slanderous terms like "thief" and "squatter" to refer to the tenant. His support for the landlord shows he's a nasty man.

@stevenlsharp - It is her HOME because the lease expired and the non-paying tenant stayed. The owner rented her home out while going off to Peru to help the homeless there in accordance with the principle of not letting a scarce resource go to waste. She was being punished a deliberate act of dishonesty on the part of a cunning and devious tenant.

The idea that that its right that a property owner should not only be prevented from returning to her home but also deprived of the rent money that she could use to rent another place is so obviously crooked and dishonest that only those who are themselves crooked and dishonest could possibly believe it to be right.

I hope she sues the tenant for back rent and the costs of recovery and eviction. Tenants like that should not be allowed to steal other people's homes and then just walk away without consequences when finally evicted.

It's her property, but not her home. The fact is, an amateur landlord who doesn't know the law (at all) got a tenant who isn't paying. Happens all the time. Get over it.
