The Original Filé Gumbo Zydeco Band "Corinna Corinna"

Filé Gumbo began as a 4 piece, and early on we played a cable access TV show Called NW Jamboree. We thought you might like to see how we sounded early on, especially with Mark Whitman, who played lead guitar with us for about 3 years. Will Peoples is playing bass on a standard guitar, but eventually got an electric bass. Here's a BiG Joe Turner standard, which appears on the band's CD "Let The Good Times Roll"! By the way, we dropped the word 'zydeco' from our name as the northern zydeco dance groups have narrowed their definition of the term, which originally meant something like 'let's boogie', or 'let's party'.

My finace' and I caught The Gumbo Twins Doug (accordion player/singer, Marc (guitar/washboard/singer and Gaby (bass guitar) at Smokin' Pete's BBQ in Ballard, Washington, and can honestly say we enjoyed their music as much as any group we've ever heard. Big Joe Turner would be happy to be sittin' in the audience while you performed this song. I'm a purist when it comes to my music, and your group is the only version other than Turner's that I will listen to. I did a search for this song because I like hearing my name sung... Of all the versions I've heard it by, I think I like this one the best! If you play in Seattle or anywhere in Western WAshington, it would be worth the trip for me!
