Filé Gumbo began as a 4 piece, and early on we played a cable access TV show Called NW Jamboree. We thought you might like to see how we sounded early on, especially with Mark Whitman, who played lead guitar with us for about 3 years. Will Peoples is playing bass on a standard guitar, but eventually got an electric bass. Here's a BiG Joe Turner standard, which appears on the band's CD "Let The Good Times Roll"! By the way, we dropped the word 'zydeco' from our name as the northern zydeco dance groups have narrowed their definition of the term, which originally meant something like 'let's boogie', or 'let's party'.

  • Thanks for letting us know! Our version appears on the CD "The Early Years: Let The Good Times Roll." That's the earliest version of the band, but we still do the song today.

  • It's my personal website that is the link there, but you'll find a link for Filé Gumbo at my site. We sell the CDs via Paypal, or can also take credit cards, though the site isn't set up for taking them, you could call on the phone or e-mail the details.

  • They won't let me post a website. Do you know how to use Google? I do think there is a website link at my YouTube channel MBristol49

We have 6 different CDs available

  • We love to know people are watching and enjoying that vintage performance!

  • Zydeco is the best!

  • Thanks for your comment! Check out Filé Gumbo's more recent videos at my YouTube channel MBristol49, or at the band's Myspace page, which has some different ones!

  • Great rendition Of Corinna, Corinna. Like the way the singer's voice projects

and makes an old old song sound great.

    deralteist

  • I love being sung too!

  • Corrina es la grande crocodile oui outside of New Orleans and Captain Kurts floating teepees.

  • Hooking this video up to my notes at Mobile Audit Club

google search Mobile Audit Club and beware of the government of the USA as they are torturing, injecting chemicals and killing honest federal banking regulatory officials. A sort of war in the USA with chemical warfare being masqueraded as forced injections. Beware of the enemy within the USA.

  • My finace' and I caught The Gumbo Twins Doug (accordion player/singer, Marc (guitar/washboard/singer and Gaby (bass guitar) at Smokin' Pete's BBQ in Ballard, Washington, and can honestly say we enjoyed their music as much as any group we've ever heard. They play honest, pure music without needing to dress it up with electronic gizmos....If you get a chance, find out where they're performing and go see 'em. Two new fans............Wes and Mary

  • One heck of a good job. You guys are good! Keep up the good work.

  • Big Joe Turner would be happy to be sittin' in the audience while you performed this song. I'm a purist when it comes to my music, and your group is the only version other than Turner's that I will listen to. My family roots are in Louisiana, which explains why this California-born woman loves your music so much. (It's like going home.") Keep on truckin'.......Mary

  • I did a search for this song because I like hearing my name sung... Of all the versions I've heard it by, I think I like this one the best! If you play in Seattle or anywhere in Western WAshington, it would be worth the trip for me!
