@jakehawthorn ... no, it´s surely dave carpenter .. he played there in that year .... jimmy johnson and gary novak were playin´ together with mike landau in 2007 ... gary is always behind the kit with mike, from 2008 was chaney there and now andy hess . ... know that gary told he loved dave carpenter, they made a record together: sondogs - floydian slip ... acoustic jazz combo with deron johnson on organ ... and dave on upright bass ... recorded few months before his heart attack in 2008 ...

it's not about being "good" but that Alan is also a prolific composer, arranger, and has a completely unique style that is impossible to imitate. Who even comes close to what he does? It's how he thinks about music that sets him apart from the herd, that and his humilty despite being on top of the pyramid.
