Not only is is too fast, but the feel is wrong. In soul and funk rythym is EVERYTHING!
Go back and listen to the drums. The FEEL is laid back and FUNKY!!! Play behind the beat. Don't push the beat like you are doing. This is a typical WHITE move. Also, Exnay on the distortion. Try clean and funky. with short, syncopated stabs.
