15,000 Los Angeles Teachers, para professionals, parents and other union groups protest at Pershing Square Jan. 29th, 2009.
With the economy down why are these people protesting? The media won't give more than 20 second coverage of the struggle public education is facing in the national push to privatize our public schools. California's governor is willing to put California last in per pupil funding. Shame on you Arnold! Here's one teachers' effort to gather the evidence that teachers care about their students, the families and the communities that are served by the Los Angeles Unified School District.
One's education foundation comes from one's HOME.

Teachers are already saddled with a multitude of state requirements and classroom challenges. This is not just a union thing, but a national responsibility.Education is the strongest foundationof this society and therefore must be a top budget priority.
