In 2008, Deep Root Silva Cells were installed at the Olympic Village in Vancouver, British Columbia for the 2010 Winter Games. The Silva Cells provide over 700 cubic feet of soil for the trees.

  • @drb248 It's true that the Silva Cell is currently made of a glass-reinforced polypropylene. Currently, that is the only material we've found that can satisfy the structural integrity required for a product like this. Because the Silva Cell acts as a component of the urban infrastructure, high load-bearing capabilities are critical. We hope to have recycled content in Silva Cell 2.0! Stay tuned.
