@saucedr first: sorry for my bad english. second: i'm sure football has a higher ratio of injures, but in football you feel very much more "secure" with all that heavy armor over you, than without anything. psychology is one of the most important parts in sports of "heavy contact". i'm an amateur rugby player, and believe me when i say, that you have to got big "knuts" to tackle a 120kg fat guy running straid in your direction XD
@SAstallion50 If they wanted to, sure. But they'd be killed which is why they don't want to. That doesn't make football players "pussies," as mrflapjack247 ignorantly suggested. It's a hard fact that the rate of serious injury in pro football is much higher than in pro rugby. Yes they are totally different games, and I'm not dogging rugby. I actually like pro rugby better than pro football,as it is faster and more fun to watch. I have to call it like I see it, though. Football is more dangerous.
@saucedr because there are rules against the shoulder barges spear tackles and dump tackles in rugby, believe me if rugby players wanted to they could hit just as hard as this. The thing you have to remember is that they are totally different games.
@MrFlapjack247 Rugby players don't hit nearly this hard. You can play real rugby without pads, you cannot play real football without them. Even the BBC did an article about it. Rugby isn't as hard as you all would like to believe.
