More Motion 5 tomfoolery. I apologize—still don't know what I'm doing.

Maybe this is a LITTLE better than the last ridiculous Motion 5 experiment, but not by much. I can't help myself, it is too fun!

Motion is only $50 USD, but it does a whole lot more than I am capable of showing here! All I messed with were the filters and the text effects, and those I still don't know quite how to do right.

One thing I do know, for $50 this is a steal. There's a lot to it and if you are a Mac vidder using some version of Final Cut Express or iMovie, then Motion 5 is a good additional vidding tool. If nothing else you can do some great title effects. But there's a lot Motion can do. I'm still waiting to learn how to do it! LOL.

Like I say in the video, this whole thing was done in Motion 5. All pieced together and everything in Motion 5. The only other app I used was MPEG Streamclip, to make the MP4 version. I wouldn't want to edit a whole fanvid in Motion 5, but it is pretty cool nonetheless.

Clips are from Spooks (MI-5 in the USA) and Robin Hood (BBC) starring the luminous Richard Armitage. "Eva Luna" (© Univision) starring Blanca Soto and the luminous Guy Ecker. And "Ladrón que roba a ladrón" (a fun Spanish-language indy film set in Los Angeles) starring the luminous Fernando Colunga. (It has English subtitles and is a lot of fun! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0859760/ )

I still don't know if I'm going to get Final Cut Pro X quite yet. I will be getting it eventually, because it's based on the iMovie 09 interface and I love iMovie 09. But there are serious things lacking in it right now and the professional editing world is in anguish, and I can understand why. I have faith that Apple will sort everything out in the end. Let's hope sooner rather than later.

  • I'm thinkiing about getting Motion 5, would you recommend it ? (I think i already know the aanswer though) :P

  • @Christop406 Yeah, for $50 I think it's a good deal. I'm already have a lot of fun with it. I haven't even scratched the surface of this app, but even a lot of the pros think it's worth the money. (Final Cut Pro X is another story, but Motion 5 seems to be getting good reviews.)
